Yael Yael, the Australian who lives in New York City, played Lorna in Orange Is the New Black. Yael completed her studies at NIDA. From a young age, Yael has been lucky enough to work with the best storytellers in Australia, brilliant stars of theatre and visionaries who work behind the scenes in film as well as theatre and television. Yael is a well-known actor across Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael has made New York City her home after the Brooklyn Academy of Music produced this critically-acclaimed show. Yael is the co-founder The Cannery. The Cannery. The Cannery is located within Bushwick Brooklyn and operates out of Brooklyn to encourage the creative process, and to create new writing.
