The most harrowing stories can be hidden beneath a glittering resume. Lolo Jones, winner of USA and World the hurdle championships, achieved the status he has achieved after years working hard and a lot of perseverance. Jones is a child born to a motherless family and had five children living in poverty and hardship when she was a kid, endured an incredibly difficult childhood. Her mom lived in the street and was even living in the cellar of a church in the area at one point. Jones had a nomadic and mobile life up until she enrolled in high school, had to transfer to a brand new school annually. Jones needed to be separated from her mother at Theodore Roosevelt School to follow her passion for track. Her family was split up in high school so she could be able to concentrate on her studies.
